#AtoZChallenge – Raccoon

The raccoon is a medium sized, North American mammal that can adapt readily to living conditions – whether in the wild or urban setting. This masked marauder is adept at getting lids off garbage cans and scavenging through the contents looking for tasty tidbits that we, humans, have tossed aside.

One of these furry bandits made the news this past week when it climbed up a construction crane in the city of Toronto. You can read about it at CTV news.

  1. Ha ha. We did it again. Lovely little animal.
I bet it caused a lot of excitment climbing that construction crane. I’ll check the link later.

  2. We have to quit sharing the same brain, Beverly… LOL! I wonder how many others will be the same before the #AtoZChallenge is over.

  3. Hmm I thought I commented here:) I love racoons-they are so smart and they look cuddly but that can be deceiving

  4. Coons are cute little masked bandits! They will rob your persimmon trees and sometimes kill your chickens. It’s legal to trap them or hunt them in Texas. There is nothing like listening to a coon dog on the trail! My daughter and hubby enjoy bar-b-qued coon. I don’t. Too greasy! If you design to sale a coon you have killed and cleaned, be sure to leave a foot on it.! It’s the only way to make sure the skinned animal is not a cat.
