I’m so excited! I’ve been offered a contract for my debut novel! Woo hoo! Happy dancing! It had taken so long to get to this point, I can’t believe the speed that things have moved at since October 4, 2011. That was the night I pitched to Vivian Zabel of 4RV Publishing. But I'm getting ahead of myself. I heard about an online writers’ conference where you could take part in workshops and pitch to editors and agents so I signed up. I had a week to perfect my pitch so that come my appointment time I would be ready to go. Things went swimmingly and I was asked to submit. I made sure my submission was as perfect as I could make it and sent if off on the afternoon of October 11. Later that evening, I had a response. I’m extremely happy that my rocking chair has arms, otherwise, I would have fallen off! The words ‘We’re offering you a contract’ filled the screen on my Blackberry.
